എന്താണ് CBSE ? എന്താണ് ICSE ?എന്താണ് കേരള സിലബസ് ? കുട്ടിയെ എവിടെ ചേർക്കണം?
വളരെ സങ്കടം തോന്നുന്നു.
അത് കൊണ്ടാണ് സത്യം ഇനിയെങ്കിലും പൊതു ജനം അറിയണം എന്ന ആഗ്രഹത്തോടെ ഈ പോസ്റ്റ് തയ്യാറാക്കിയത്.

അടുത്തിടെ സ്കൂൾ അഡ്മിഷനുവേണ്ടി പരക്കം പായുന്ന പല രക്ഷകർത്താക്കളുമായി സംസാരിക്കുവാൻ ഇടയായി. കുട്ടിയെ ഏതെങ്കിലും മുന്തിയ ഇംഗ്ലിഷ് മീഡിയത്തിൽ ചേർക്കാനുള്ള ഓട്ടത്തിലാണ് അവർ. ചെലവ് കൊക്കിലൊതുങ്ങുന്നില്ല. എങ്കിലും കുട്ടി CBSE അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ICSE സിലബസിൽ പഠിക്കണം. അതു മതി. LKG യിലും UKG യിലും ഒന്നാം ക്ലാസ്സിലും ഒക്കെ ചേർക്കേണ്ട കുട്ടിക്കും മിനിമം പതിനായിരം രൂപ എങ്കിലും ചെലവു വരുന്നുണ്ടത്രേ !!! ക്ലാസ് കയറും തോറും ചെലവ് പതിനായിരങ്ങളിലേയ്ക്കും പിന്നെ ലക്ഷങ്ങളിലേയ്ക്കും കടക്കും. നട്ടെല്ലൊടിഞ്ഞാണ് പലരും ഇത്തരം സ്കൂളുകളിൽ മക്കളെ ചേർക്കാൻ പണം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത്...
അവരോടു CBSE അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ICSE എന്നതിന്റെ ഫുൾ ഫോം ചോദിച്ചു. അറിയില്ല എന്ന് മറുപടി. CBSE എന്നാൽ Central Board of Secondary Education എന്നും ICSE എന്നാൽ Indian Certificate of Secondary Education എന്നാണെന്നും പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും അവർക്ക് കാര്യം പിടി കിട്ടിയില്ല. അവരെന്നല്ല കേരളത്തിലെ ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷം വരുന്ന രക്ഷകർത്താക്കൾക്കും അറിയില്ല... അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ച് തന്നെ വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ തിരഞ്ഞു നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ കിട്ടിയത് ഇതാണ് "In India, high school is a grade of education from Standards IX to X. Standards IX and X are also called Secondary School. Usually, students from ages 14 to 17 study in this section. These schools may be affiliated to national boards (like CBSE, ISC, and NIOS) or various state boards." സെക്കന്ററി സിലബസിന്റെ മാത്രം ഉത്തരവാദിത്ത്വമാണ് CBSEക്ക് എന്ന് ചുരുക്കം. അപ്പോൾ പിന്നെ CBSE എന്ന് 'അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന' സ്കൂളുകളിൽ ചെറിയ ക്ലാസുകളിൽ കുട്ടികളുടെ സിലബസ് ഏതാണ് ? അങ്ങനെ ഒരു പ്രിസ്ക്രൈബ്ഡ് സിലബസ് അവർക്കില്ല എന്ന ഉത്തരംകിട്ടും. സംശയം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ CBSE യുടെ വെബ്സൈറ്റ് പരിശോധിച്ചു നോക്കൂ... ദോഷം മാത്രം പറയരുതല്ലോ ഏതു പുസ്തകമാണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന ഒരു റിപ്പോർട്ട് ആവശ്യപെട്ടാൽ കൊടുത്താൽ മതിയാവും.
അപ്പോൾ പിന്നെ ഏതു സിലബസ് അനുസരിച്ചാണ് ചെറിയ ക്ലാസുകളിൽ CBSE എന്ന് 'അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന' സ്കൂളുകൾ പുസ്തകം തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നത് ? ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ കമ്മീഷൻ തരുന്നത് ഏതു കമ്പനിയാണോ അവരുടെ എന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റെന്ത് ഉത്തരം? യഥാർത്ഥ വിലയുടെ മൂന്നിരട്ടി ആവും MRP ആയി പ്രിന്റ് ചെയ്യുക. ബാക്കി സ്കൂളിന്റെ ലാഭം. എല്ലാ വർഷവും പുതിയ പുസ്തകം വാങ്ങണം എന്ന് നിർബന്ധിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ കാരണം വ്യക്തമാണല്ലോ.. ഇതിനെല്ലാം പുറമേയാണ് നോട്ടു ബുക്കുകൾ, അഡ്മിഷൻ ഫീ, ട്യൂഷൻ ഫീ, ആ ഫീ, ഈ ഫീ എന്നൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു വാങ്ങുന്ന ആയിരങ്ങൾ. സ്കൂൾ ടൂറിന്റെ പേരിൽ നടക്കുന്ന പകൽ കൊള്ള വേറെ.സ്കൂൾ ബസിലെ യാത്രക്ക് മാസം പെറുക്കണം നൂറിന്റെ നോട്ടുകൾ പലത്...അദ്ധ്യാപകർക്ക് ഇതിനനുസരിച്ചുള്ള മാന്യമായ ശമ്പളം കൊടുക്കുന്നുമില്ല !!
കേരള സിലബസിൽ എങ്ങനെയാണ്
കൗതുകകരമായ വസ്തുത കേരള സർക്കാരിന്റെ പൊതു വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്ന് മുതൽ പത്തുവരെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം സൗജന്യമായിരിക്കെ ആണ് ഈ പരക്കം പാച്ചിൽ എന്നതാണ്. ഒന്ന് മുതൽ എട്ടു വരെ ക്ലാസുകളിൽ പുസ്തകം സൗജന്യമാണ്. നോട്ടു ബുക്കുകൾ മാത്രം വാങ്ങിയാൽ മതിയാവും. അഡ്മിഷൻ ഫീസോ, മാസ ഫീസോ, വാർഷിക ഫീസോ ഇല്ല. യൂണിഫോം ഏതാണ്ട് സൗജന്യം എന്ന് തന്നെ പറയാം. ഞങ്ങളൊരു ഏയ്ഡഡ് സ്കൂളിൽ നാല് വർഷത്തെ കണക്കു നോക്കിയിട്ട് ഒരു കുട്ടിക്കു് ശരാശരി 450 രൂപയിൽ കൂടുതൽ ആകെ വാർഷിക ചെലവു വന്നതായി കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. അതായത് ഒരു ചെരുപ്പിന്റെയോ, ബാഗിന്റെയോ, ഷർട്ടിന്റെയോ ചെലവു പോലും ഒരു വർഷത്തേയ്ക്ക് ആകുന്നില്ല എന്ന് ചുരുക്കം !!!
കേരള സിലബസ് മോശമല്ലേ ?
2015ലെ SSLC റിസൽറ്റിന്റെ സമയത്ത് സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയ കളിയാക്കലിന്റെ പൊങ്കാല ഇട്ട ഓർമ്മയാവും എല്ലാവർക്കും. പക്ഷേ അത് വെബ്സൈറ്റ് സംബന്ധമായ പിഴവായിരുന്നു എന്നത് പിന്നീട് മനസ്സിലായി എങ്കിലും വെളിവായ സത്യം ആരും ആഘോഷിച്ചില്ല. അല്ലെങ്കിലും അങ്ങനെയാണല്ലോ നെഗറ്റീവ് ആയത് ആഘോഷിക്കുവാനും സത്യം പുറത്തു വന്നാൽ കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കാനും മലയാളിക്കുള്ള കഴിവ് ലോകത്താർക്കും കാണില്ലല്ലോ...
പ്ലസ് വണ്ണിൽ എത്തിക്കഴിഞ്ഞ് CBSE കുട്ടികൾ ആദ്യ മാസങ്ങളിൽ തിളങ്ങും. ആഷ് പോഷ് ഇംഗ്ലിഷും ജാടകളും ഒക്കെ കണ്ട് കേരള സിലബസ് പഠിച്ച കുട്ടികളൊന്നു കിടുങ്ങും. പക്ഷേ ആദ്യ പരിഭ്രമം ഒന്ന് മാറി ആദ്യ പരീക്ഷ കഴിയുന്നതോടെ കാര്യങ്ങൾ കീഴ്മേൽ മറിയും. ഒടുക്കം എല്ലാ വിഷയങ്ങൾക്കും മികച്ച വിജയം നേടി കേരള സിലബസിൽ നിന്ന് വന്നവർ തിളങ്ങി തുടങ്ങും. ഇത് വായിച്ച പടി വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ട അടുത്തുള്ള പ്രശസ്തമായ പ്ലസ് റ്റു സ്കൂളിലെ അദ്ധ്യാപകരോട് ചോദിച്ചു മനസ്സിലാക്കൂ... പ്രശസ്തമായ ഒട്ടു മിക്ക എൻട്രൻസ് പരീക്ഷകളിലെ സ്ഥിതിയും ഇത് തന്നെ...
കേരള സിലബസ് ആരാണ് തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നത്?
ഒന്ന് മുതൽ പത്തു വരെയുള്ള ക്ലാസുകളിൽ State Council of Educational Research and Training അഥവാ SCERT. പ്ലസ് വൺ, പ്ലസ് റ്റു ക്ലാസുകൾക്കുള്ള പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ NCERT അഥവാ National Council of Educational Research and Training ആണ് തയ്യാറാക്കുന്നത്.
2016 ഓടെ ഒന്ന് മുതൽ പത്തു വരെയുള്ള ക്ലാസുകളിൽ പുതിയ പുസ്തകങ്ങളെത്തി. അടുത്തിടെ നടന്ന പഠനത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് കേൾക്കുവാനിടയായി. വിദേശ ഏജെൻസി നടത്തിയ താരതമ്യത്തിൽ കേരള സിലബസിന്റെ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾക്ക് ലോക നിലവാരമുണ്ട് എന്നതാണ് അത്..... ഇതും വായിച്ച പടി വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ട പുതിയ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ ഒന്ന് വായിച്ചു നോക്കൂ...
വലിയൊരു മാറ്റത്തിന് നമ്മൾ ഒരു നിമിത്തമാകട്ടെ... ഇനിയെങ്കിലും പൊതു ജനം സത്യം മനസ്സിലാക്കട്ടെ. ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് പൊതു വിദ്യാലയങ്ങൾ നടത്തുന്ന അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിച്ച് അപൂർവ്വം ചില പൊതു വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളിലെ ക്വാളിറ്റി കുറവിനെ പൊലിപ്പിച്ചു സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയയിലും മറ്റു ദൃശ്യ ശ്രാവ്യ മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലും ഷെയർ ചെയ്യുന്ന ശീലം നമുക്ക് മാറ്റാം. മറിച്ച് അവ നടത്തുന്ന അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾക്ക് പ്രശസ്തി കൊടുക്കാം.
നമ്മളിൽ പലരും, ഇന്നുള്ള പ്രശസ്തരും പ്രമുഖരും എല്ലാം അത്തരം വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ഫോർമേഷൻ സ്വീകരിച്ചവരാണ് എന്നത് മറക്കാതിരിക്കാം. സർവ്വോപരി കുട്ടിയെ CBSE അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഇംഗ്ലിഷ് മീഡിയത്തിൽ ചേർക്കുവാനുള്ള തത്രപ്പാടിൽ ഈ മാസം പണം കണ്ടെത്തുവാൻ ഓടുന്ന രക്ഷകർത്താക്കളിലേയ്ക്ക് ഈ മെസ്സേജ് എത്തുന്നു എന്ന് ഉറപ്പു വരുത്താം. തെറ്റിധാരണകൾ മാറട്ടെ.. സകലർക്കും നന്മ വരട്ടെ...!!!

ReplyDeleteDear writer...I had learned in state syllabus...and I know how tough it is when you have to work any where out side kerala..you should learn languages especially English..at a younger age to be able to handle this language..well..today I interview lot of people and I always feel sad for the people who are highly educated but not able to communicate in the most efficient way..and are forced to work under people who are considered as better only because they are good at communications and presentations..so blindly saying that catching up is easy after plus 2 is just can only be referred as too much of a buoyancy

DeleteWell Yesudas, it depends on how you define good people. When the interviewer has some candidate, who perfectly fits the bill, why would he compromise on hiring a trainable guy, (unless he owns the company or run it for charity).
Deletesanthosh kumar argues that better communication alone happens to be the basis for merit in interviews ...actually it shouldn't be the language that counts ...it differs from place to place...tamil,hindi ,malayalam..etc..etc..a job seeker from bengal after entering kerala speaks excellent malayalam with respect to the area of his work. ofcourse he will not be a scholar.. a keralite who does schooling in malayalam medium along with the english lessons now given from classes 1 to 10 can cxcel in a proffessions if the job demands the use of english ..the inthing for an interviewer should be other things to asses how seriously and sincerely he will face the job situations in future....

Deleteഞാൻ നഴ്സറി മുതൽ പത്താം ക്ലാസ് വരെ മലയാളം മീഡിയത്തിൽ ആണ് പഠിച്ചത്. +2 വന്നപ്പോ ഒരു അങ്കലാപ്പ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു പക്ഷേ രണ്ട് മാസം കൊണ്ട് ശരിയായി. പിന്നെ ഞാൻ നഴ്സിങ്ങിന് പോയി, lELTS പാസായി. ഇപ്പോൾ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയിൽ ലാട്രോബ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ ടീച്ചറായി ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഞാൻ ഇവിടെയെത്തി MSc നഴ്സിങ്ങ് ചെയ്യുകയും ഇപ്പാൾ PhD ചെയ്തു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. എനിക്ക് +2 കഴിഞ്ഞതിൽ പിന്നെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഒരു പ്രശ്നമായി തോന്നിയിട്ടില്ല. മലയാളം മീഡിയത്തിൽ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് വളരെ നന്നായി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നുണ്ട് . സംസാരിക്കാൻ പഠിക്കില്ല എന്നേ ഉള്ളൂ. പക്ഷെ ഗ്രാമർ സെന്റൻസ് ഫോർമേഷൻ എല്ലാം വ്യക്തമായി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മീഡിയത്തിൽ പഠിച്ച എന്റെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾ lELTS എക്സാം പാസാക്കാൻ പോലും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുന്നത് ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. കാര്യം ഇത്രേയുള്ളൂ. എവിടെ പഠിക്കുന്നു എന്നല്ല എന്തു പഠിക്കുന്നു എന്തു മാത്രം ആത്മാർത്ഥതയോടെ പഠിക്കുന്നു എന്നതിലാണ് കാര്യം. മലയാളം മീഡിയത്തിൽ പഠിച്ച് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് നന്നായി കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു പാട് പേരുണ്ട്.

ReplyDeleteകേരള സിലബസ് മോശമാണെന്നു ആരും പറയുന്നില്ല. കേരളത്തിലെ എയ്ഡഡ് / govt സ്കൂളുകളഇൽ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്തിൽ കാണിക്കുന്ന ആത്മാർത്ഥയില്ലായ്മയാണ് കാര്യം. എനിക്കറിയുന്ന ഒരുപാട് എയ്ഡഡ്/ govt സ്കൂൾ അധ്യാപകരുടെ മക്കൾ പഠിക്കുന്നത് CBSE സ്കൂളുകളിലാണ്. അവരുടെ മക്കളെ പരീക്ഷണത്തിന് വിട്ടു കൊടുക്കാൻ അവർ തയ്യാറല്ലെന്നല്ലേ മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടത്.

Cbse is costly. Eapecially in metro cities they may charge upto 1-1.5 lakhs at the time of admission. But the discipline, attitude, manners, commmunication, the way of teaching approches etc. Are extremely different compare to state syllabus. More over i heard that cbse students score more in all india based entrace examinations. Good syllabus and schooling surely have a great impact in a childs growth. I studied in state and i belive i could have reach a better position if studied in a better school. Coz my teachers knowledge was very poor. Their world was inside labour india magazine.. :��
ReplyDeleteDear writer, I would recommend a little more research on subjects like this. I agree with you on the fact that CBSE/ICSE is responsible only for the 10th and 12th exams, but your primary education is the gateway to get there. I am also of the opinion that Kerala state syllabus is not bad. Having said that, if you are looking for a career or higher education outside the state, you stand to lose a few steps. Having spend a few years of my schooling in state syllabus and then in NCERT, I have seen the difference and there is clearly an advantage that Central Boards give on long run.

ReplyDeleteThe writer has a very little knowledge about CBSE. CBSE has specially designed curriculum from First to XII. The NCERT has published text book for all subjects and It is free of cost to get it printed from EPortal of CBSE Website. If properly taught and implemented in Schools, No other board can replace the Standard of CBSE Curriculam. A lot of world wide research has been conducted before implementing anything in CBSE. But it is true that some schools employ untrained teachers. This spoils the very credibility and accountability of the BOARD
സർക്കാർ/സ്വകാര്യ സ്കൂളുകളിലെ CBSE പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ക്ലാസുകാർക്ക് കേരളത്തിലെ ആർട്ട്സ്-സയൻസ് കോളേജുകളിൽ മെറിറ്റ് ക്വോട്ടയിൽ ഒരു വിധത്തിലും പ്രവേശനം കിട്ടാൻ വഴിയില്ല!
ReplyDeleteCBSE യുടെ ടൈറ്റ് വാല്യുവേഷനും, ആർട്ട്സ്-സയൻസ് കോളേജുകളിലെ മൈനസ് 10 ഗ്രേസ് മാർക്കും കൂടിയാവുമ്പോൾ, CBSE പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ക്ലാസുകാർ ക്ലീൻ ഔട്ട്!
(CBSE കേന്ദ്രീയ വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളിൽ പഠിക്കുന്നവർ ഭൂരിപക്ഷവും സാധാരണക്കാരും താഴ്ന്ന നിലയിലുള്ളവരുമാണ്)

ReplyDeleteIf properly taught & implemented in our schools, state syllabus is good. But I think nowadays it is not happening in Kerala schools
ReplyDeleteEvery Year NCERT publishes a study report(National Achievement Survey) various boards across country.

On Average CBSE and ISCE stands out. But Kerala state is one of good boards compared to other states based on the above data. But this doesn't mean anything.
Students performance depends on lot other categories. Like school, parents, teachers, peers, access to various stuff (Computers, Study Materials, guidance, Internet, books, etc...)
Pragmatically choosing a board for X and X11, should be depending on what you want to do after it. Because in India, criteria to get college depends a lot on what board you study.
So flexible to change accordingly, if your aim is get college admission with out paying lot of money.

ReplyDeleteഎല്ലാത്തിലും ഗുണവും ദോഷവും ഉണ്ട്. ഞാൻ 7 വരെ private school ലും ഹൈസ്ക്കൂൾ ഗവ സ്ക്കൂളിലും ആണ് പഠിച്ചത് ഉള്ളത് പറയണമല്ലോ പ്രൈവറ്റ് സ്ക്കൂളിലെ ട്രെയിനിംഗ് മാത്രമാണ് പിന്നീട് എനിക്ക് പലയിടത്തും ശോഭിക്കാൻ അവസരം കിട്ടിയത്.
